Level 3 Glymphatics + Trauma
Lymphatic Drainage Certification Training
Level 3 Glymphatics + Trauma
Certification Training for Professionals
Description
Prerequisite: Level 1 Face Neck + Full Body
At the Toronto Lymphatic Academy (TLA), we’re passionate about teaching practitioners how to support their clients through the power of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD). In this training, you’ll learn both the theory and practical techniques to effectively support glymphatic drainage by improving the quality of their cerebrospinal fluid and therefore better drainage of the brain and spinal cord.
Glymph carries Waste, hormones, nutrients, (amino acids, lipids, glucose), neurotransmitters and genes to the central nervous system and is negatively affected by poor sleep, aging, traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and concussions, alcohol, constipation, infections and gut inflammation, stress, sleep position, and poor diaphragmatic breathing.
Help your clientele find relief through effective glymphatic drainage. By optimizing fluid pressure, MLD moves stagnant fluids carrying toxins, pathogens, and waste while delivering essential nutrients, hormones, and healing compounds to the brain and spinal cord. The results? A healthier terrain and more resilient central nervous system.
This skill set is invaluable for clients dealing with any brain health concerns and is a beautiful add-on to our level 1 training; the face, neck and full body offering. Give clients the support they need as they work on improving their nutrition, stress management, and lifestyle measures.
Through this course, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the pathophysiology of common issues related to the central nervous system, exploring the brain’s immune system, the glymph. You will also confidently learn the steps to incorporate manual glymphatic drainage, the absolute contraindications, and how to educate your community on holistic measures they can incorporate in their lifestyle to best support their own glympahtic drainage when not in treatment with you.
We’ll even guide you on finding your niche and positioning yourself as an expert, so you can confidently serve the unique needs of those who walk through your clinic doors. Join us to diversify your skills and make a meaningful difference in your clients' lives. Our friends at Impact Kitchen provide lunch on both days. There are plenty of gluten and dairy-free options to choose from.

Modules
Module 1: Trauma Informed Care
Untreated and unresolved mental, emotional and physical traumas have a negative effect on the body’s ability to stay in its window of tolerance. When a client finds themselves stuck in a chronically elevated (sympathetic) or apathetic (dorsal) state, they can see chronic inflammatory conditions and symptoms rise. Many of these people walk through our clinic doors and we have a unique opportunity to offer an extra layer of client-centered care that can help them better access their parasympathetic healing state while in your care.
In this module, we will also cover core concepts regarding everything from how to offer a trauma-informed intake and onboarding to your clinic, trauma types, how trauma presents and impacts physiology, common presentations of trauma, the power of safe co-regulation, and more.
Module 2: Theory + Pathophysiology
Discover the glymphatic system—what it is, what it transports, and how it benefits the health of the central nervous system. Learn about the impact of medicinal herbs, factors that hinder glymphatic function, when glymph drainage is most active, the best times to perform drainage, and how to guide clients in improving glymphatic flow at home.
Explore the deep connection between the central and autonomic nervous systems and metabolic function. When working with clients whose goals are to improve regulation, detoxification, and repair, understanding how to nurture their nervous systems and bodies to best support positive health outcomes is a skill we dive into refining. Enjoy this scientific, yet deeply heart-centred training and expand your confidence in treating clients with health complaints stemming from poor clearance of cerebral waste.
Module 3: TMJ
Learn the steps to properly assess, palpate and massage the masseter bone, temporalis, and zygomatic arch to release key nerves and improve pathways for CNS drainage.
Module 4: Pterygoid
This is an intra-oral component of the treatment and helps to improve the nutrient flow to the brain by releasing roadblocks in the tissue surrounding the pterygoid bone.
Module 5: Posterior Neck Stretch
Master the steps to manipulate the tissues surrounding the occipital bone, lending to improved drainage from the brain to the main lymphatic ducts, the thoracic and right lymphatic duct.
Module 6: Mastoid Pump
Confidently learn to manipulate the tissues surrounding the mastoid bone, creating space for blood flow to the dura and sinuses, an essential step to comprehensively support your clients in improving the quality of cerebrospinal (CSF) and a decrease in inflammatory symptoms.
Module 7: Optic Nerve Reset
This step in the sequence helps remove stagnant fluids in the brain, which can contribute to headaches, memory and concentration issues, and brain fog. It involves the assessment of eye tension and gentle massage of the eye to release nerves and improve fluid movement in the brain.
Module 8: Third Eye Brain Pump
Learn the technique to safely and effectively reduce pressure in the cranium, improving the drainage of cerebral spinal fluid when your client is sleeping.
Bonus
At the Toronto Lymphatic Academy, we understand that mastering any skill takes practice and support. That’s why we offer lifetime access to future training sessions at no additional cost to our students. We’re also here to answer your questions—whether about refining your technique (send us videos, we love to help!), marketing your services, setting your pricing, or anything else you need.
Graduation is just the beginning. Our commitment to you doesn’t end when the course does. We're dedicated to supporting you as you launch and grow your career in manual lymphatic drainage, ensuring you have the confidence and resources to succeed.

Instructor Bios
Thais is a highly accomplished manual lymphatic drainage specialist who began her journey in lymphatics in 2018 in her home country of Brazil. Her training started with the renowned Renata França, where she mastered lymphatic drainage and sculpting techniques. She further expanded her expertise by completing certifications with Joana Medrado and Nany Mota, leaders in post-operative and fibrosis techniques. Thais also studied at Dr. Vodder’s International School of Manual Lymphatic Drainage and the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS) for advanced post-op care. Most recently, she has deepened her knowledge under the mentorship of Dr. Perry Nicholston through his Lymph Mojo training programs.
Thais believes in the transformative power of touch, emphasizing that hands do more than massage—they communicate with the body, understanding its needs and responding with care. Her work focuses on supporting the parasympathetic nervous system to manage stress and anxiety, enhance fertility and pregnancy, improve brain health, and promote body detoxification. Thais’s passion for teaching empowers her students to approach lymphatic drainage holistically, equipping them with the confidence to address their clients' health with compassion and precision.
Cassandra’s passion for metabolic health began in her teenage years as an avid kickboxer. At 15, chronic hip and back injuries as well as severe IBS and depression led her to investigate the root causes of pain, inflammation, and immune dysfunction. She discovered a genetic predisposition to poor methylation and detoxification which drove her chronic inflammatory symptoms. This ignited a lifelong dedication to researching functional approaches to detoxification and metabolic health. Over the past 15 years, Cassandra has worked as a functional health coach, specializing in somatic drainage, women’s metabolic health, and modalities such as holistic nutrition, personal training, fascial stretch therapy, and colon hydrotherapy.
Her primary focus is the gut-brain connection, and she is passionate about working with chronic illness and neurodivergent communities. Cassandra’s approach integrates nervous system regulation and safe, effective detox strategies. As a dedicated teacher, she simplifies complex body systems, ensuring her students feel confident in applying their knowledge to their practices. Cassandra’s mission is to help others understand and optimize the connections between safely cleansing body systems and long-term health and vitality.
